Freedom Of Speech and Expression : a fundamental right
guaranteed by Constitution of India to its citizen plays the most pivotal role
in safeguarding the democracy in India. It is this right that paves way for the
rightful criticism of the administrative system and gives space to the agencies
to improve further. It is also a tool that gives the common man his right to be
heard! Freedom of Speech is a very vital right, which if crushed can certainly result into a havoc, which
India actually experienced during the black days of Emergency. Free Speech
gives the man a right to voice his opinions of all matters of national
importance. A man can speak anything and everything , according to the law,
that is in “PUBLIC INTEREST”. Therefore we see in many instances where due to
the “STRONG PUBLIC OPINION” governments were forced to take or backtrack from
certain decisions .
Free Speech gives you every right to speak but it also
restricts you from speaking things which are deemed unfit by the same
constitution. Free speech without any
restrictions can lead to a chaotic situation where people could speak anything
they wish leading to social disharmony in this country. The makers of the
Constitution of India felt the need therefore to put a cap on the use of free
speech which is why a man is not allowed to speak or express anything that
disregards the society and nation at large. Free Speech is fundamental to a
development of man, no doubt, but at the same time it is also necessary that
the tool is not used in a manner that can threaten the nation’s security.
People of India, have a right to speak but not against the interest of nation.
Speaking against the nation, for any purpose, even as sarcasm, can have huge implications.
Exactly what the students of JNU did. Even a thought that the young generation
of India is being taught to speak against Her fabric makes you feel sad!
Knowingly, they insulted the fabric of India. Since long,
allegations have been made that JNU has become a hub of anti national elements.
This stands proved today. Since when has “Bharat Ki Barbadi” become Freedom Of
Speech? The so called liberals have started making the argument that students
have the right to speak their mind. But since when has speaking against your
own nation become free speech? If the language that “Kashmir Ki Aazadi” or
“Bharat Ki Barbadi” is deemed to be freedom of speech, then god save this
country! For by the same argument every
terrorist or a radical or anti social element who speaks against India is also
speaking his mind out. Why not support him too and turn India into a land of
free thinkers, who keep speaking against India; killing people and harming the
communal sentiments! By the same logic, every man who tries to seduce a woman
is also using his right to free speech. Every criminal who threatens to kill
someone is also using his free speech then let’s just acquit all the prisoners
and let them loose just because whatever they did was subsequent to their use
of right to freedom of speech and expression. This is.
This is nothing but “Breaking India” by dividing Her into
communal, cultural and geographical lines under the grab of free speech which
amounts actually to sedition & abuse of the right to freedom of speech and
expression . It was utterly disheartening to see that on the day when India was
celebrating “Make In India” leftist and multi communal politicians like Rahul
Gandhi, were supporting the “Breaking
India” Campaign. More than disheartening
it was actually awful to see all politicians gathering under the umbrella of JNU , supporting the students who sloganeered
against India, just for the sake of demeaning a Chaiwala, who was unanimously
elected as PM by the largest democracy in the world to lead an electorate of
over 125 crore people.
Use of free speech is welcome but not if it threatens the
national security of this nation. Free Speech is not welcome for the sake of
PLEASING THE MASTERS for whom these agents of chaos work. Free Speech is not
welcome if it tries to disarm the people of this nation against the TRAITORS
who think themselves to be the landlords of this land. This whole argument that
speaking against India equals exercising right to free speech is abominable.
And it is a rightful job of the government to take action against anyone who
openly speaks of “Breaking India”.
